Gaza Relief
Didi Ananda Rasasuddha and Sister Vitashoka have been coordinating relief efforts for the Palestinian people of Gaza which includes child support and counselling, water desalination and food distribution.

Here is a book Didi put together showcasing the children’s art and poetry…

Many short-term and long-term relief activities have been implemented so far and are still active in support of the plight of Palestinian people in Gaza as well as the thousands of Palestinian families who took refuge in Egypt. The activities have been coordinated very cooperatively by Didi Ananda Rasasuddha, sister Vitashoka and various Palestinian leaders managing their respective teams of volunteers on the ground, together with the fundraising efforts and donor contributions of various AMURT/EL units globally.
Didi Ananda Rasasudha has from the beginning taken care of establishing and supporting two schools in Egypt: Palestinian Meera Kindergarten (together with Palestinian founder Wejdan) and Palestinian Bright Minds Academy in Al Areesh (together with Palestinian founder and teacher Hadeel), both now with over 200 children. These schools, apart from academic teaching, have been providing lots of art therapy, children theatre, songs and collective story-telling to help children overcome the trauma of war.
Didi has been also taking care through AMURTEL funds of many school activities inside Gaza. At one point seven activities were going on, but after all the people displacements at present only two still remain active in south of Gaza with about 50 children each. These efforts of providing some educational materials and activities to children, even temporarily bringing joy to their faces, during such unbearable human catastrophy, has been of vital importance to bringing rays of hope and shared humanity for so many troubled children deprived of their right to childhood.
Didi Ananda Rasasudha has also been in charge of the desalination plants. So far three desalination plants have been installed in Gaza to provide fresh water to thousands of people, mainly with the help of AMURT/EL team Italy and UK, through the hard work of a ground team lead by Palestinian Leader and civil engineer Mahmoud and all his trusted professional friends.
Last but not least, AMURT/EL has so far taken care of supporting our children home in Cairo, a home with 8 orphan children and their grandmother. All the children were saved from the rubble and arrived in Egypt to be taken to the hospitals. Some of them had broken heads or cut bellies. Miraculously they all survived and recovered. At present the children are well, they are going regularly to our school in Cairo, Meera Kindergarten, run by Wejdan that became a family support for them all, and after more than a year they are definitely showing recovery and progress in their lives.
